An original silver gelatin print by Latvian-born American portrait photographer Philippe Halsman titled, "Dali Atomicus," featuring an abstract portrait of Dali jumping while cats and water are flying by his head.
The portrait's title was in reference to Dali's painting, "Leda Atomica," which is seen in the background. The photograph took six hours and 28 throws to achieve, as Halsman was quite the perfectionist. |
